Christmas at Petersham Nursery / Family Photographer Richmond, Surrey

A visit to Richmond-upon-Thames isn't complete without a walk along the river to Petersham Nursery. It's a little place of calm, on the outskirts of the bustling city, and the perfect place to while away a few hours, either in the restaurant-Café or The Teahouse. The glasshouses are stocked with the most beautiful flowers, plants and homewares - it's impossible to come away empty handed (as my husband will vouch!).

When choosing the location for your family photo shoot it is so important to pick somewhere meaningful, and where you all enjoy spending time together. This could be your home, local park or, in the case of this family, the place your enjoy relaxing and eating good food. I met this couple and their cheeky little man for some cake at The Teahouse and then we wandered around the nursery grounds. It really was the most perfect setting to capture some seasonal, and rather Christmassy, shots of the family together. Thank you to them, and Petersham Nursery, for a lovely afternoon!

Snow Day / Family Photographer Dorking, Surrey

After a lot of excitement at last night's weather forecast, we woke up to a rather disappointing light dusting of snow in London. If this was going to be our only chance to see the white stuff, we would have to travel and so we did - to the Surrey Hills. Up on Ranmore, close to Dorking, we managed to find enough to keep us busy for a good few hours. Here are a few snaps from our day in the snow.

Sweet Baby Girl / Baby & Family Photographer Richmond upon Thames

A little before Christmas, I had the pleasure of photographing this warm and loving family. We started the photo shoot at their home in Richmond upon Thames and I was able to capture some beautiful images of them relaxing and enjoying each others' company. Their sweet little baby girl was a joy to photograph and loved all the attention.

It was also really important for them to also have some of the photographs around their local area. Richmond boasts so many wonderful locations for photography - Richmond Park, the vistas from the top of the Richmond Hill and of course, along the banks of the River Thames by Richmond Bridge.

We wondered through Richmond's backstreets until we got to the river, were we came across the most beautiful Christmas trees outside Jackson & Rye. It was impossible to resist a quick shot especially as my model had the cutest little Christmas jumper on. Some of my personal favourites from our photo shoot are of the family snuggling together by Richmond Bridge and I was thrilled when they chose to print a copy as part of their digital collection. It's the icing on the cake for me to see the photographs in print.

London Landmarks Family Photo Shoot / London Vacation Photographer

I love being a tourist in my own city so, when this family contacted me from all the way from Texas in the U.S.A, I was so excited to show them around some of my favourite London Landmarks. In typical London style, it as a grey day but the weather was mild and my little model was the biggest ray of sunshine. A red phone box was high up on their 'must have' list and I knew one in the perfect spot - just by the Palace of Westminster and world-famous Big Ben. We then wandered over Westminster Bridge to the South Bank which is one of my absolute favourite places to hang out in London. Here, I captured the family just hanging out - no real agenda apart from spending time in each others company. I'm so glad they asked me to photograph their vacation in London - here are some of my favourite photographs from our morning of sightseeing.
