Mummy in the Picture {Family Photographers in Surrey}

I'm continuing my round up of my favourite summer sessions with this gorgeous Surrey family photo shoot. Not only did we have the most beautiful location deep in the Surrey Hills but I also got to spend the afternoon with of the smiliest little girls I've ever had the pleasure to photograph. She is a bit of an old pro mind - daughter to Becky, super talented photographer, at Mango Studios.

As a mummy - and a photographer - I am always the one behind the camera, and very rarely in front on the lens. I have hundreds of photographs of my daughter as well as lots of shots with daddy. I am very aware however, that by documenting our pictorial family history, I am effectively writing myself out of the memories I feel are so important to capture. Even now, when we look through recent snaps, I am often asked "Mummy, where are you?" 

After reading Allison Tate's blog The Mom Stays in the Picture on the Huffington Post, it became clear that it wasn't just me but a lot of mums were absent from family photographs. So, when Becky contacted me with the same predicament, I could totally empathise and made it my aim to capture not only some great family images but also ones that this happy and fun little girl could cherish of her and her mummy together. I'm sure she will treasure them for a lifetime.
